USG 3209
USG 3209 is a high yielding, moderately early
maturing variety adapted to the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast. USG
3209 is resistant to powdery mildew, leaf and stem rust and Hessian
Fly biotypes GP, B, and E, with good straw strength and compact
plant height (32 inches). USG 3209 is moderately resistant to wheat
spindle streak, leaf glume blotch, and barley yellow dwarf. USG
3209 has consistently been one of the highest yielding varieties
throughout its area of adaptation. Due to early spring growth and
potential freeze damage, USG 3209 should be planted in the later
half of the planting season in its more northern area of adaptation.
